The Company

From a very young age, when he was helping his father, an ironmonger by profession, Salem OMRANE had the idea of one day setting up a metalworking factory. After extensive and diversified experience as a technical director and as the primary head of a company, and considering the urgent needs of a country undergoing construction, Salem OMRANE had the courage to set up an industrial unit in Sfax for the manufacturing of cutting tools for wood and metals. In 1981, Omrane Salem et Cie, commonly known as “OmSa”, was born.

Over time, the production range has expanded and diversified to include carbide blades and tools for sawing marble and various types of stone. Since its inception, “OmSa” has equipped itself with several quality control instruments at various stages of the production of each of its products, with the aim of ensuring a quality as outstanding as that of major multinational companies. The relationship that the founder maintains with various European manufacturers and suppliers of raw materials, by participating annually in several specialized fairs, has allowed “OmSa” to have a head start in automating its machines. Various working sessions with international specialists, exchanges of experience and, above all, the installation of an autonomous laboratory have enabled the plant to develop its own references and to have adequate raw materials in line with international standards.
